#10 - Joy Villa

American singer-songwriter, Joy Villa, made another political statement by showcasing her custom "Build The Wall" dress at the Grammy awards earlier this year. She was also sporting a red purse that complimented her Trump inspired dress that stated, "Make America Great Again."  

#9 - Tekashi 69

Daniel Hernandez, professionally known as Tekashi 69 or 6ix9ine, rose to fame in 2017 with his viral hit "Gummo" and has retained a spot in the media ever since. 

6ix9ine was involved in multiple "beefs" with other celebrity rappers including, Trippie Redd and Chief Keef. 

6ix9ine's is most infamous for being involved in a child sex charge from 2015 and most notably, being charged with Federal RICO and firearms charges. 

As of today, 6ix9ine is currently serving a 2 year sentence. 

#8 - Gladys Knight

The Empress of Soul, Gladys Knight, turned 75 this year and she is still rocking the stage with her voice. Earlier this year, she appeared on the American version of The Masked Singer and finished in third. Knight also performed at Super Bowl LIII. 

#7 - Lizzo

American singer-songwriter, rapper, and flutist, Lizzo took the world by storm in 2019. Her most unforgettable moment of the year was during a Lakers vs. Timberwolves matchup. When Lizzo's hit song "Juice" started playing over the loudspeakers, Lizzo stood up and started twerking, wearing fishnet tights and a black thong. Lizzo faced backlash over the incident but remained calm and focused while under pressure.

#6 - Mötley Crüe

Mötley Crüe released a Netflix biopic, "The Dirt" and was named one of the highest rated films of the year. Following the release of "The Dirt," fans demanded new content from the iconic rockers.

Mötley Crüe announced a 27-date US 2020 comeback tour called "The Stadium Tour." As of now, over 700,000 ticket have been sold.

#5 - A$AP Rocky

A$AP Rocky made headlines in summer 2019 after being arrested in Sweden. He was held for 2 weeks under investigation for assault. A$AP Rocky claimed self-defense. He was found guilt but did not have to serve any jail time but did have to pay a fine.

Later in the year, a sex tape leaked of A$AP Rocky.

#4 - Lil Nas X

American singer-songwriter and rapper, Lil Nas X, rose to fame with his hit single "Old Town Road." He first performed "Old Town Road" on the video sharing app Tik Tok and it went viral from there. The song charted and remained number 1 on the US Billboard Hot 100 for 19 weeks.

Lil Nas X came out as gay over summer 2019 and is the first person to do so while having a number 1 hit.

#3 - Billie Eilish

Billie Eilish gained media attention in 2016 with the song "Ocean Eyes" on Soundcloud.  Eilish's debut EP, Don't Smile at Me (2017), reached the top 15 in the US, UK, Canada and Australia. 

In 2019, Eilish debuted her studio album "When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go?"

#2 - 21 Savage

21 Savage was arrested and detained by U.S. ICE early this year due to an expired visa which expired in July 2006. 21 Savage was released with pending deportation hearing that has since then been postponed indefinitely.

His second studio album, "I Am>I Was" debuted at number 1 on the Billboard and stayed at number 1 for two weeks.

#1 - R. Kelly

R. Kelly made headlines in 2019 with the release of Lifetime's docuseries titled "Surviving R. Kelly," which detailed allegation of sexual abuse by multiple women. Facing backlash from the docuseries, RCA Records dropped R. Kelly from the label. 

In July 2019, R. Kelly was arrested and charged with Federal sex crimes and obstruction of justice, facing 18 total charges.
